Abstract

Information and communication technologies have transformed daily life since the invention of the Internet. These changes have impacted the way we communicate and have revolutionized the industry. Currently, it is essential for companies to have an internet connection. Electronic commerce, driven by these technologies, has changed foreign trade, facilitating the sale of goods and services. (Carreras & Martínez, 2021) Within today's digital world, electronic commerce has become an essential element of the global economy, changing the dynamics of commerce both locally and internationally. This research work focuses on the impact of electronic commerce on foreign trade, studying how online platforms have overcome the limitations of time and space, facilitating greater unification of markets worldwide. Through a detailed study of current trends, trading patterns and case studies. (Canchari & Pacheco, 2020) In Argentina. during the year 2020, the author Rabinovich, Guido. He deduced in his thesis titled “E-commerce: logistics solutions for the last mile” that electronic commerce benefits both the economy and lifestyle, particularly with home deliveries. This is relevant for foreign trade since online purchases can be local or international, and can be made from almost anywhere. This problem is crucial for imported products sold locally, as it represents the last step in the chain. In the case of Colombia, certain challenges are faced when talking about e-commerce, because its influence is greater every day, both in large and small companies, it even gave the birth of totally virtual stores, thus being a challenge. For local commerce, the shift in commerce in Antioquia is decisive for a new era of commerce, both national and foreign since it is accessible with just one click Archbold, C., and Sánchez, L. F. (2020) In relation to the city of Cúcuta, it is essential to delve deeper into the topic of electronic commerce, since this technology has become a crucial resource for doing business. Entrepreneurs are beginning to recognize its importance, relevance and usefulness. Among the main barriers is the lack of general knowledge on the part of decision makers; this lack of knowledge limits the intention or ability to sell large volumes to expand or develop new markets at a regional, national and international level.
