Abstract

This article investigates the application of 3D printing technology in fashion and design processes, focusing on understanding how
it intervenes in the creation of functional and personalized ideas. Using a qualitative approach, it explores the phenomenon of 3D
printing, its applications, the different types of printing and the integration of new technologies in the fashion industry.
The research is structured in several phases: literature review, interviews with experts who contribute to the research, and case
studies that have incorporated this technology. Through this approach, we seek to highlight the current state of 3D printing in fashion,
as well as to capture the aesthetic perceptions, creativity and subjective experience of designers.
The results of the study provide a detailed explanation of what 3D printing is all about, highlighting its ability to create unique,
customized pieces that would be difficult to manufacture using traditional methods. It also discusses the different types of 3D
printing technologies used in fashion, each with its specific advantages and limitations.
Finally, the potential impact of 3D printing on the fashion industry is examined, highlighting its ability to transform design and
production processes, reduce waste, and enable greater experimentation and customization. The research concludes that 3D printing
not only revolutionizes the design and manufacturing process in fashion, but also offers new creative opportunities for designers,
positioning itself as a key tool for the future of the textile industry.
