Characterization of the millennial generation for job insertion, socio-professional and employability

Abstract

The purpose of this article was to characterize the millennial Generation in terms of job placement, socio-professional outcomes, and employability. Methodologically, a quantitative, descriptive approach was used, with the study population being millennials   from the city of Bucaramanga. The results demonstrate an encouraging outlook regarding their willingness and ability to integrate into the labor market. They reveal that the majority of respondents have a positive attitude toward initial social interaction, standing out for their ease in smiling and opening up to strangers. It is concluded that there is significant potential for establishing effective networking and working relationships. Likewise, their high self-confidence and positive perception of their personal qualities indicate a solid foundation for professional and personal development. It is recommended to address the small percentage that still faces difficulties in these aspects, which underscores the importance of social skills and self-esteem development programs to strengthen the employability of this group.
