Social movements and women victims of the armed conflict, a reflection of the Colombian case

Abstract

This research article is the product of the research entitled The social fabric from the women belonging to the Victims Corporation, God gives us a second chance, located in the Camilo Daza neighborhood, commune 6, in the municipality of San José de Cucuta, North of Santander. The article aims to reflect on the dynamics and visibility of the social movement of women victims in the framework of the Colombian armed conflict, and the challenges that have been assumed in the search for state and social recognition. The research is qualitative and the method is phenomenological in nature, using tools such as documentary review and contributions that arise from the application of semi-structured interviews to women victims of the Colombian internal armed conflict. The results of the research are based on the reflection of the organized movement of women victims in a context of conflict and violence in Colombia, from the following lines of discussion: the existence of the armed conflict in Colombia; the social movement of women victims and its supportive dynamics; the need for social recognition and state response to victims and the appropriation of technologies for participation in social movements; Finally, the conclusions show the lack of knowledge and civil and state delegitimization of the social movement of women victims in Colombia, however the capacities and strengths built from these processes that enable the participation and recognition of the victims are highlighted.
