This article seeks to reflect on the influence, benefits and challenges of Artificial Intelligence in the medical field and how this technological revolution can reshape the relationship between healthcare professionals, patients and machines. IAS came transforming the field of medicine for at least a decade, significantly improving both accuracy and efficiency in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Precisely the breadth that AI allows, offers a timely and accurate display of data, especially in oncological procedures or cardiology.
One of the most significant advances in medicine has been the use of surgical robots, which are used as support in highly complex procedures, thus reducing the margin of error in these procedures, which in turn positively affects the recovery time of patients. And not only the physical procedural part has been favored by Artificial Intelligence, also the area of services offered through applications that ensure reaching almost all users of medical services, at least for those who have access to internet through any mobile device, an advance that benefits communities located in remote areas.
Although Artificial Intelligence promises to continue revolutionizing medicine and to continue improving the quality of life of patients in post-procedures, it is necessary and important that there is a regulation of ethical policies that certify the fair and equitable application at all levels of healthcare.
