Abstract

This project aims to analyze the number of incidents of domestic violence before, during and after the COVID 19 pandemic in the departamento de Bolívar. A database from the government's open data portal will be used. Based on that, the scope of our research will be explanatory with a qualitative approach and its study will be non-experimental; The data analyzes will be done in four phases: data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, construction of the data model and visualization; All of this will be done using the high-level programming language Python. According to the results of the investigation on the number of incidents of domestic violence in Bolívar, it can be highlighted that within the time period analyzed, 2020 was the one with the highest figures of violence, highlighting an extremely high peak at the beginning of the year.  and a very varied behavior the rest of the year, but with significantly high figures when compared to the other years under study. For its part, 2019 shows a relatively uniform distribution of its incidents throughout the year, only 2022 presents a different behavior, with a clear downward trend towards the end of the year, presenting the lowest levels within the time periods studied.

It can be concluded that adult women were the population most affected by this scourge by a wide margin. 2020 was the period of time that had the highest rates of violence, a fact attributed to the period of greatest impact of the pandemic. 2022 presents the lowest levels of violence in Bolívar thanks to the fact that it was the year in which the COVID-19 health emergency in Colombia ended, along with the promulgation of law 2215 of 2022.
