The social and psychological impact of pornography

Abstract

Sexuality represented as human behavior, beauty and aesthetics has been
exposed since the beginning of humanity as art, graphic representations and ways of
expressing human procreation and sexual affection between people, the advancement of
technology, the high commercialization of erotic content, the diversification of uses for
this has compromised its artistic principles leading to great problems of needs and
satisfaction of people, generating cases of exploitation and sexual abuse, the affectation
of the person's psychology, the negative affectation of intimate relationships and
communication of couples. Its easy access and consumption is allowing the rapid
advancement of new social problems such as social isolation due to the need to consume
pornographic content, family problems such as incest or sexual violence, causing new
needs and themes that satisfy their needs, affecting their mind, social development, the
disjunction of the family. All this problem has developed great challenges such as
freedom of expression, its regulation as a limitation to freedom of expression, since it is
important to address this problem considering all the technological and social aspects,
also considering therapeutic support as a key method to mitigate the negative effects of
pornography, generating education and awareness about the negative effects, today
there are organizations that fight against exploitation and abuse. The government has
also had influence in its regulation to prevent exploitation in a way that it also supports
organizations that fight against all this problem.
