This article aims to recognize the role of women in Caño Indio Tibú regarding food security in the framework of the process of substitution of illicit crops in 2017, using as a method the case study, structured direct interviews and direct observation. In this sense, the families of Caño Indio Tibú, live a food crisis, due to two factors: one, the non-compliance by the State and two, the non-existence of pan coger crops in their farms. Likewise, the women of the Caño Indio village considered, based on their experiences and the current conditions, that in order to carry out a process of substitution of illicit crops in Colombia, it is necessary to guarantee in the first instance autonomous processes of food security of the families that access to these substitution projects.
