Abstract

On the border of Colombia and Venezuela, which has been impacted by two social events, such as the binational closure of the border due to political conflict and then the covid-19 pandemic, where entrepreneurship was presented as a stable job opportunity. . , adding the environment and knowing that Cúcuta is the city with the highest unemployment rate in Colombia, to overcome these facts requires strength in businessmen. Although to identify an entrepreneur there are different approaches such as economic, psychological, sociocultural and managerial, in this research a model with a psychological approach is proposed to identify the psychological characteristics necessary for entrepreneurship, describing their influences and interrelationships, in the communication. wholesale and retail in this region. A survey was applied via email to a sample of 511 businessmen, their responses were analyzed in the specialized software SmartPLS 4.0, obtaining a model that establishes the dependency relationships between the variables. The reflective model obtained showed to have internal consistency, convergent validity and discriminant validity. It was found in the model that the most influential characteristic of the entrepreneur is the ability to take risks, and this in turn has a great influence on the other characteristics.
