Application of dmaic methodology in solving quality problems

This work talks about the DMAIC methodology, and how it is implemented in a medical products company, to reduce customer complaints, since it is the main cause of the problem in the company. The method will search for an optimal solution for the process in the production of cytology. The problem occurs in the quality control at the time of inspecting the product so, when manually pulling the brush from the cap, if it is neglected, which represents 70% of the failures in the product. What generates defective material and you are left with clients. The objective of the method is to measure, analyze, improve and control. In each phase of the methodology, diagrams, histograms, control planes, cause-effect diagram and regression are presented. With the development of this project, it was possible to demonstrate to the company the importance of providing improvements in its demonstration processes in statistical techniques, using the DMAIC method. Favorable results were obtained to make improvements in the quality and production system. The implementation of the method reduced costs and labor and delivery times by up to 60%.
