Analysis of emerging trends in the area of Industry 4.0

Abstract

Companies seek to satisfy key factors such as productivity, innovation and customer satisfaction. This research aims to provide information on emerging trends in the field of the 4.0 revolution, with a special focus on the industrial sector. Therefore, the need to adopt Industry 4.0 processes has been recognized, which involve the implementation of technologies that improve the supply chain and enable faster and more efficient management, as well as greater automation. A documentary review was conducted using the ScienceDirect platform to explore the academic production, in Mexico, of Industry 4.0 in the last five years. The results revealed that, since it is a relatively new system, there are still several challenges and barriers, such as the integration of sustainability in Industry processes.
