Financial education in childhood is important for developing skills that enable effective resource management in adulthood. However, traditional methods often prove boring and arouse disinterest. This article proposes using stories as a pedagogical tool for financial education and evaluates their effectiveness compared to traditional approaches. Narratives accompanied by pictures and dialogue facilitate the understanding of complex financial concepts. A special story for preschool children and first grade elementary school children was developed, used in different schools and evaluated for its results. The results suggest that stories are an effective and engaging strategy for teaching financial literacy. It is recommended that this method be adapted to address financial concepts in more depth to change children's perceptions of money management and prepare them to make informed financial decisions in the future.
