Abstract

The rapid digital transformation of organizations has established Industry 4.0 as a key approach that—through the integration of various technologies and the automation of processes—enables improvements in efficiency, innovation, competitiveness, and decision-making. This article presents the results of a systematic review of the literature on Industry 4.0 and decision-making. Using tools such as Bibliometrix, Tree of Science, and Gephi, along with the criteria of the PRISMA 2020 statement, 1,738 bibliographic records from Scopus and Web of Science were analyzed through the creation of a scientific map, the development of a thematic tree, and the identification of the main research clusters. The results indicate that the field of study is in a mature phase, with significant output from China, India, and Italy. Furthermore, a thematic evolution was identified, ranging from the conceptualization of Industry 4.0 and the implementation of its technologies to the development of technological solutions and autonomous systems in complex environments. Finally, the study presents three research clusters centered on Industry 4.0 and cyber-physical systems, organizational implementation patterns of Industry 4.0, and the convergence of technology and decision-making.
