The production of food for animal consumption over time has been negatively impacting natural resources, making it necessary to implement alternatives that contribute significantly to sustainable development but at the same time ensure the nutrition of the growing world population, opting for the production of insects, which have been recognized for their nutritional components, highlighting the Blaptica dubia; however, there is a dispersion of information on the inclusion of the species in animal feed. The following review provides a description of the potential of Blaptica dubia as an alternative and sustainable feed for animals of productive interest. The methodology employed was based on the search for information with the support of Science direct and Google Scholar databases. The potential of the species and its contributions to sustainable production is recognized, which can substitute its own food in the formulation of diets for species such as soybean meal, soybean and corn, being necessary to standardize the substrates for its production.
