Abstract

This research proposes a departure from conventional practices in primary education didactics and the adoption of innovative approaches to improve children's learning. A theoretical framework was developed to enlighten the pedagogy of primary school teachers at the John F. Kennedy Educational Institution of Bogota in Colombia, with a focus on innovation. Using the theories of constructivism and cognitivism as a basis, a qualitative approach was adopted, and data were collected through interviews and observations of five key informants. Content analysis was conducted through categorization, coding, and constant comparison, following the grounded theory method. The results highlight the importance of achievements, changes, educational reality, the need for change and a collaborative environment to foster an innovative culture in education.
