Abstract

Supplier selection using multi-criteria methods
involves evaluating and ranking suppliers based
on various factors to make an informed decision.
The MEREC (Method for Ranking Evaluation and
Classification) method assesses suppliers by defining
criteria, evaluating performance, and classifying
them into categories to determine the best fit. On
the other hand, the PROMETHEE (Preference Ranking
Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations)
method compares suppliers using preference
functions for each criterion, calculates the degree
of preference between them, and aggregates these
preferences to rank suppliers. Both methods facilitate
systematic and objective decision-making in supplier
selection by integrating multiple criteria into the
evaluation process.
